Bob Ruiz

A residential real estate specialist, Bob’s focus is concentrated on Siesta Key, downtown Sarasota, west of the Trail, and Sarasota’s gated communities including Lakewood Ranch and Palmer Ranch. Bob serves both buyers and sellers and has extensive knowledge of all angles of the market. He is constantly evaluating market conditions to ensure the most favorable options and resolutions for his clients.

With years of experience in business, finance, tax, and real estate, Bob has seen every turn in the market and believes success is earned through creating and maintaining long-term relationships with clients. A Sarasota real estate agent for over 20 years, Bob was formerly with ReMax Properties and Key Solutions Real Estate Group. In 2022 he joined William Raveis Real Estate with offices in the northeast USA, South Carolina, and Florida.

 

Born and raised in New York City and educated in Virginia, Bob's combination of competitiveness and congeniality uniquely suits him to a profession in real estate. Recruited from college for a coveted CPA position with Arthur Anderson, Bob subsequently attained the position of Chief Financial Officer at a public technology company, working closely with the federal government in Washington, DC.

 

His proximity to the coast led to his love of life at the beach. A once avid beach volleyball player and fisherman, in 2001, Bob undertook a two-year search for his "little slice of heaven" in Florida. After sampling life in numerous coastal communities, he determined that Sarasota was perfect. The climate, the water, the beach, the amenities, and the people make this his ideal place to live.

 

A long-time boater, Bob has a vast knowledge of the waters surrounding Sarasota. The Bays, Bayous, Passes, Intracoastal Waterway, and of course the Gulf of Mexico are all intertwined with our residential communities and lifestyle.

 

Bob is passionate about fitness, and the outdoors and also enjoys travel. When out of the office, his favorite activities are cycling, swimming, hiking, and skiing.

 

His love for the Sarasota community, combined with his experience as a successful adviser and businessman led to his current career in real estate. A seasoned negotiator, Bob brings knowledge, determination, and trustworthiness to all of his real estate dealings. Bob's favorite aspects of his job are the search for the right property at the right price, the negotiation, and the advising of friends, associates, and clients on a variety of real estate issues, particularly as they relate to their overall financial goals.
